Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop – Full Day

The Jewellery Business, Studio 1, Trafalgar Studios, 118 Trafalgar Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S1 4JT
Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop – Full Day

On this full day course you will have the opportunity to make a couple of pieces of jewellery from silver clay.

Silver clay is relatively new to the world of jewellery making, introduced by Mitsubishi in the early 90s. It is made from tiny particles of reclaimed and recycled silver which are mixed with a non toxic organic binder. The clay can be rolled, textured, moulded and carved. During firing, the binder burns away and the silver particles sinter so you are left with a beautiful piece of solid silver. There are so many possibilities to create some beautiful jewellery.

In your class you will learn some of the basic techniques needed to create silver clay jewellery and shown how to use the required tools in the workshop.

- Designed for total beginners and people looking to improve.
- Dawn will meet you at your level and help you progress.
- Small class numbers so you get plenty of tutor time (5 people max).
- The class starts at 10am and ends 4.30pm.
- Most people make a pair of earrings and a pendant.
- Materials included.

The Jewellery Business is located in Sheffield City Centre and is a fully equipped jewellery studio. The class fees includes materials (10g silver clay, and a chain for a pendant and some ear wires for earrings), if you wish to make more on the day you can purchase extras in the class. Your tutor, Dawn Rowbotham of Lillybank Silver, is an experienced silver clay jeweller with a wealth of knowledge.

If you’d prefer to do a longer session where you can learn extra techniques and create 2 or more pieces of silver clay jewellery then take a look at their full day of silver clay jewellery making. If you’d like to find out more please get in touch with them and they’ll get back to you!

You will receive an email with all the details you need for the class and how to locate the studio upon booking.
