About

Inside the iconic Castle House building in Sheffield, is an interactive museum dedicated to exploring the culture, playfulness, design and people behind videogames, as well as encouraging visitors to develop their own game making abilities.

This festive period, we hope that everybody can enjoy the joys that videogames can bring. We are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and over the school holidays too.

Let’s play.

The Arcade

Play the fantastic arcade machine collection including the much-loved classics Space Invaders, Pacman and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. You can leave your change at home, you won’t need it here, you pay once and play all day!

Made in Sheffield!

As we're based in the amazing Steel City, we’re showcasing some of the rich history of videogaming that has been created here. From Monty Mole to Zool to Outrun 2 to Snake Pass to Gang Beasts - some of the best loved titles in all of gamedom were created here. If you've made the effort to visit Sheffield, you should definitely play it!

Game Bundles

Discover and play our huge games collection in exhibitions that tell new stories about games, how they are made and the people that made them. Currently we have exhibitions featuring Gravity, Textbox, Hyper Femme, Words Per Minute, Music and much much more.

Platform 14

This exhibit explores Nintendo's classic, Donkey Kong! We have 14 different versions of the platforming behemoth, all from different platforms and consoles.
