Culture City Break (3 Day)

Culture City Break (3 Day)

This three day city break itinerary is a great introduction to The Outdoor City, allowing you to experience Sheffield’s unique blend of cultural offerings and outdoor activities.

Day 1

Early Afternoon

Arrive at Sheffield train station and slide straight into a welcoming drink at the quintessentially English pub, Sheffield Tap.

It’s now a short walk up into the City Centre, with glimpses of Sheffield’s iconic street art to admire on the way to drop off bags at your accommodation.

Late Afternoon

The afternoon is spent seeing the outdoor city from a different angle all together, as you leave dry land behind and follow the waterways of the city on a stand up paddle board, under the expert guidance of DC Outdoors.

Evening

As night begins to fall, it’s time to hit the town and a flavoursome start to the first evening of your city break can be spent in a choice of independent eateries.

Cutlery Works  - Cutlery Works is the largest food-hall in the North of England, spread out over two floors featuring a mixture of permanent and semi-permanent unique and independent restaurants, communal dining spaces, bars and coffee roasters

KommuneBringing together some of the most acclaimed, independent kitchens, an artisanal bakery and specialty coffee, craft brewers and design led retailers, Kommune is a social all day dining experience housed in a unique urban space, right at the heart of Sheffield’s old city centre.

Temple of Fun ~(Make No Bones) - Famed Sheffield vegan kitchen, Make No Bones are serving up delicious home cooked grub 7 days a week, come in and sample their new Saints and Sinners menu where you can find saintly light bites and sinful treats alongside new dishes and old favourites.

Later on/Night Time

Continue your adventurous first day in The Outdoor City into the night, with plenty of options for later drinks around Kelham Island.

Kelham Island: From industrial heartland to cultural icon, Kelham Island's transformation into Sheffield's premier destination for food, drink and thriving independent businesses is going from strength-to-strength thanks to the opening of several new establishments.

Day 2

Morning

To start day two of your three day city break in Sheffield, make your way to Endcliffe Park, grab a coffee at the café and wait to join up with True North Adventure to experience their City to Sky Experience

'We took inspiration for our City to Sky experience from time spent in Canada. The Sea to Sky is an incredibly scenic road that runs along the coastal line from

Vancouver to Whistler. We enjoyed the trip so much, we’ve brought the experience home to Sheffield – affectionately known as the Outdoor City – and throw in some electric-assisted bikes for good measure.'

Afternoon

On your return you can slowly make your way back down into the city centre on Ecclesall Road, sampling a wide range of refreshments on the way.  Admire more of the city’s street art around the bottom of the Moor, including an impressive piece by Phlegm which marks the building that was taken over by the artists temporary Mausoleum of Giants exhibition.

Proove Pizza - Because our guys make great dough. Because we use the freshest, best quality ingredients. Because we make it the Napoli way (which we think is the best).Because we love what we do! And because, we know you will love it too!

Day 3

Morning

Your last day in The Outdoor City and it’s hard to believe your city break has flown by so quickly!  So, let’s slow the pace a little with a gentle stroll through Eccelsall Woods, the walk can be enjoyed with a cake and coffee at the woodland café, or turned into a longer hike up to the trails and moors of Blackamoor.

Afternoon

Return to the city centre in the afternoon to wrap up the trip with a hit of culture as you mix taking in leading art exhibitions with taking in caffeine hits at hip coffee shops.

The Millennium Gallery - Our vision is providing inspirational museums and galleries where people can reflect upon the past, question the present and imagine the future.

Site Gallery - Is Sheffield's international contemporary art space, specialising in moving image, new media and performance.
