Think summer is wrapping up? Think again, because there’s a whole load more events and festivals taking place this September, to keep the summer vibes going. So, we’re going to be showcasing all the highlights still to come, week by week.

We kick of September this week with some great events across the city. Read on for a rundown of the events and festivals to enjoy in Sheffield and click on the links in the event names to see more info…

Having just reopened to audiences a couple of weeks ago,  Lyceum Theatre continues  a strong run of touring productions with one woman show Tell Me On A Sunday  playing 31 – 4 August, while Sheffield Theatre’s Studio Theatre is also set to spring back into life with the return of acclaimed production. Based on a true story around the Sheffield Blitz, Operation Crucible is showing 2 - 25 September, following a sell-out run in 2016.

While we’re on the subject of reopening cultural venues, The Graves Gallery re-opens on Friday 3 September, following a six-month programme of refurbishment and redisplay with some amazing new works from Mark Firth and Phlegm, amongst others.

The Village Screen are seeing out the summer in style, with an Open Air Cinema in the grounds of grand Kenwood Hall Hotel, 2 - 4 September. They’ll be showing classics, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moulin Rouge! and Jurassic Park, along with pre-screening entertainment and street food.

Sheffield Adventure Film Festival are also hosting a special outdoor cinema at Bolehill Recreation Ground on Saturday 4 September. It’s part of the Sheffield Showcase weekend, which will see a whole load of arts and cultural groups showcasing our amazing culture here in the city. With everything from Classical Sheffield Pop-Up performances in the Winter Garden or an Algorave at DINA, to shows from Theatre Deli, there’s lots on offer 2 – 5 September.

One of the largest outdoor art markets in England and  a much loved event in the city, Art in the Gardens returns to Sheffield’s beautiful Botanical Gardens 4 - 5 September, with hundreds of artists and craft makers from across the UK all showcasing their wares in the stunning surroundings of the gardens. Accompanied U16s can enter for FREE but be sure to book your tickets for this unique Sheffield event.  

Meanwhile, popular street food night market, Peddler, is also back in Kelham Island 3 - 4 September with some of the UK’s finest street food vendors.
