Wyming Brook blog article Go from street to streams in less than half an hour.

Lace up your boots and catch the 51 bus out to Lodge Moor. Four miles to the west past the student hub of Broomhill, you’ll reach Wyming Brook nature reserve – an unexpected slice of wilderness so close to the city centre.

You’ll be right by the water.
Choose from the main 6 mile scenic loop or an enchanting 3 mile stroll. It’s all signposted from the bus stop – so you can’t go wrong. Whichever path you choose you’ll meander through the trees, crossing picturesque bridges and skipping over stepping stones.

The views are brilliant too.
From the trails you’ll look out across Rivelin Dams and Redmires Reservoirs, chasing waterfalls as you go. If you fancy a dip, head out at dawn for a refreshingly beautiful start to the day. You won’t be alone, especially in summer. It’s a favourite spot for local wild swimmers.

In The Outdoor City, the pub’s always part of the adventure. Stop off at The Three Merry Lads pub on Redmires Road for a bite to eat. It’s the heart of the community, so chat to the locals while you’re there, they’ve got some great stories to tell.

Here's a great route if you want a short family stroll or evening dog walk.
