The Rab Climbing Works International Festival (CWIF) isn't like most climbing competitions. Yes, it attracts professional competitors from around the world. Yes, it offers prize money. But, far above all else, the CWIF exists for the fun of it.
One of the headline events in The Outdoor City Weekender and huge event on the bouldering calendar, expect big crowds, big talent and big moves when this event returns to Sheffield's Climbing Works 10 - 11 March 2018.
Open to all climbers, regardless of age or ability, the CWIF encourages everyone to come along and test their strength and technique, making it the only UK international bouldering competition where amateur and professional climbers have the opportunity to compete side by side. It's this inclusive nature that brings together around 450 competitors from all over the world.
For 2018, Sheffield-born outdoor brand Rab have once again come back on board as official sponsors, saying "the CWIF has evolved into one of the most popular climbing events of the year and we are incredibly proud to be supporting a truly unique competition that allows the everyday climber to climb alongside their heroes. The 2017 Rab CWIF was a remarkable event and we look forward to working once again with The Climbing Works team to make 2018 even better”.
For those unable to attend, the semi-finals and finals will be streamed live online.
Registration details will be coming very soon, keep your eyes on The Climbing Works' Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest announcements.
