Weekender Fringe: City Orienteering

In conjunction with the Outdoor City Weekender and SHAFF, South Yorkshire Orienteers are running a FREE Urban Orienteering event around the streets of Sheffield City Centre.

On Saturday 10 March, they'll be setting up camp outside the Showroom Cinema and challenging you to find as many controls as you can around the streets, alleys and open spaces of the City Centre in just 45 minutes.

They'll be will using mobile phone GPS to record time taken and visits to control sites, with technology that's compatible with both Androids and Iphones.

Registration, start and finish for the event all take place outside the Showroom Cinema, and you'll be able to start the course any time between 1pm and 3pm. The course is FREE to take part if you're using Google Maps, but £1 donation will be requested use of a printed large-scale orienteering map.

Individuals, pairs and groups welcome. Under 16s must be accompanied on the course due to road crossings.
